The meal provided served by the Brasserie on George Square that my partner and I, eat on our fifth anniversary, was truly awful. My crab and caviar starter was adequate but nothing special, my partner's scallop and black pudding was okay however, it would have been much improved by a better black pudding such as Stornoway''s award winning black pudding. My partners main course of Gressingham duck was tasteless which wasn't helped by the overwhelming flavour of chunks of pineapple which appeared to be disguising a squashed roast tattie. You''re thinking that it doesn't sound all that bad...It was my main course which was really foul. Marketed as sole and spiny lobster tail in a champagne, butter and lobster sauce, what appeared was an overcooked lobster piece and an unidentifiable object which tasted like a cross between overcooked scrambled egg and maybe, maybe a little bit of fish??? It was hard to tell since a pound of butter had been melted and poured over the entire dish. Yuk yuk yuk, inedible. The only saving grace of the meal was the pudding not withstanding the misplaced mint ''syrup''. We will not be returning and certainly not at 30 quid a head.
